Sunstar Insurance of Arkansas Timeline

2012: Sunstar Insurance Group, LLC is founded by David “Casey” Bowlin whose goal is to make Sunstar one of the largest Independent Agencies in both the Midwest and South.

As of 2024, Sunstar Insurance Group’s total footprint now features over 50 locations in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana.

2012: Henry Jordan and First Delta Insurance in Helena joins Sunstar to “plant the flag” in Arkansas.

2017: Sunstar acquires the Commercial and Personal Lines operations of Simmons First Insurance Services in Arkansas and Tennessee.

Andrew B. Meadors joins Sunstar as CEO of the Arkansas and Tennessee markets as well as a member of Sunstar Insurance Group’s Executive Committee.

2018: Sunstar purchases the former Town & Country Insurance Agency in Jonesboro from Stephens Insurance, giving Sunstar a major presence in Northeast Arkansas.

2019: The Todd Agency of Little Rock joins the growing Sunstar team. David Todd brings his expertise to the Arkansas Management Team as COO and President of the Arkansas Employee Benefits Division.

2020: In its biggest move yet, Farris Insurance of Springdale joins Sunstar of Arkansas, bringing with it an impeccable reputation as one of the largest Independent Agencies in NW Arkansas. Gary Jech and Steve Batchelor of Farris are joined by Fred B. Stone who brings his vast experience and leadership to an already stellar team in NW Arkansas.

2021: Mark Miller Financial Services of Paragould, consisting of Mark Miller and his team, Jennifer Thielemier and Teressa Duncan joins the Sunstar of Arkansas team.

Sunstar brings aboard Tom Tull of Healthcare Insurance of Arkansas. He brings a wealth of Employee Benefits knowledge to our Jonesboro office.

One of the top Agencies in Arkansas, Campbell & Company comprised of 8 offices, joins the Sunstar team. Jim Black, Bill Talbot, Fred Briggler and their group grows the Sunstar Arkansas locations to 12 agency locations and 94 valued team members.

2022: Drew Nadzam, Chris Evins and Karen West at Evins Insurance make their return to the former Town & Country Agency where they established themselves as a formidable team in Northeast Arkansas. This reunion now makes Sunstar a major force in the region.

2024: Randy Allison, former President of the Big I of Arkansas, joins the Little Rock office as Senior Producer. First Arkansas Insurance comes on board in a major gain for Sunstar Insurance of Arkansas. The company expands to new areas in Arkansas. Mike Carter and David Beck add management strength.

Sunstar Insurance of Arkansas is one of the few true statewide Agencies in the state comprised of offices in Camden, El Dorado, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Little Rock, Magnolia, Morrilton, Paragould, Russellville, Sheridan, Springdale, Pine Bluff, Hot Springs Village and Fairfield Bay.
